Startup Lab

An evidence-based entrepreneurship course for undergraduates at Georgia Tech.

COE2701 / CS2701 / MGT4803

Startup Lab teaches evidence-based entrepreneurship. This semester-long 3-credit class covers creativity, teaming, startup metrics, MVPs, and business models. In this hands-on course for undergraduate students at Georgia Tech, students learn how to launch a technology startup by combining in-class lectures with out-of-class learning. You will discover a compelling business model by going out and interviewing people. You will need to commit 6 hours a week of time outside of the class time for this program to be successful.

Startup Basics

First we'll teach you the basics about startups including creativity, teaming, building a minimal viable product, startup metrics, pivoting, intellectual property, pitching, and raising money.

Customer Discovery

Then we'll learn about customer discovery and go out into the field and interview potential customers. At least ten customer interviews are required each week so that you may start with a hypothesis and end with a product/service that others want.
